My name is Nina Maria Yeliseyev. I am a very proud Russian Jew, who grew up in Syracuse, New York with all of my Russian friends. I came from a very traditional Russian family. I am the first one in my family to be born in the United States, but that hasn't stopped me from living a very Russian lifestyle. I live with my mom and our little dog Tosha, a little Peekapoo brat who learned all of his naughty tricks from his big sister. We had another little guy named Benny, but unfortunately he passed away.
Toshka keeps me company during my yoga practices and thoroughly enjoys the Downward Facing Dog position (can't say I blame him). I started doing yoga about a year ago (2012). My grandfather has been practicing the art of yoga since he was very young and he was very talented at it; I guess you can say it's in my blood. After joining my current gym, I started taking the relaxed yoga classes for practice and quickly moved to the Power Vinyasa classes. I started practicing more and more at home because once I started seeing my poses improve, I was pretty hooked on trying to make them perfect. I always used to hear people say "yoga is so relaxing" and I thought it was all B*** S***. Little did I know that yoga was soon going to become the one thing that gave me peace (other than shopping of course). So now I am a very active Yogi and wouldn't change that for anything. I have a very supportive family and friend circle, and thanks to them, I have decided to pursue my yoga teaching license. I consider myself to be truly blessed.
On a completely different note, I am a shopaholic. I don't really think I even want to admit how bad it is. Lets just say I have 4 closets full of clothing, and one entire closet for my shoes, and still not everything fits. I've loved fashion since I came into this world, and I consider that to be one of my many talents. I cannot leave the house, even just to go to the grocery store or gas station, without picking an outfit and making myself presentable (lets just say I don't usually leave the house without a pair of heels on). I guess I'm superficial when it comes to how I look, but I'm not really too concerned with what people think about that. I believe that to gain respect from people, you must look the part of a respectable person, how will your peers ever respect you if you're walking around in sweatpants and a hoodie? The only time anyone would see me that way, is if I was coming from the gym very late at night. A quote that I live by is..
"I will look beautiful, or I will die trying."
It will forever be something I strive for and I am definitely not ashamed to admit it.
On that note, I hope everyone has a good day, I will be blogging again soon, and remember..
If you can't do it in heels, It's not worth doing!
Goodnight & Namaste
XOXO
